My real name is Ryan and I’m a WordPress Developer (Web Developer focusing on WP) from Scotland.
My online gaming began 10 years ago (it’s currently June 2017). The first group of gamers I joined was ZeR (Ze Extreme Revolution). Which I believe is French despite the creator being English. We were a fairly mixed group of Playstation 2 players brought together on Killzone and Battlefield. I don’t actually remember which came first, it’s all a blurry vision of endless fun! I remember owning the Battlefield two maps with my online buddies. I scored 22 kills in a row once, every kit used to survive, sometimes killing the same player three times in a killing spree.
I remember owning the Battlefield two maps with my online buddies. I scored 22 kills in a row once, every kit used to survive, sometimes killing the same player three times in a killing spree. I remember how angry players got over the PS2 mic and how much I enjoyed that. I would be accused of cheating, hacking, and generally being a dick! All because I was fast and furious. My adrenaline would pump, my hand-eye co-ordination felt drug induced (it wasn’t), and I could think faster when gaming than in any other activity in my life. It’s easy to see why people get addicted to gaming and why I’ll never stop playing!
What we didn’t know, is how far we could take it, and each clan slowly died but with the right plan it doesn’t need to be that way!
I got a taste for online gaming for sure, but I needed something different because my serious side needed more. I needed goals, ambition, productivity, progress, and I wanted to learn more…even in the world of gaming. I started spending more time looking at the gaming industry, not just the games.
I found myself at the University of Abertay, studying Web Development though. I bought my first PC and entered a new phase of my gaming. I discovered the power PC gamers have over their games and became hooked on online gaming. I just didn’t have much time to play because I had to study to do and spent mine weekend’s training in the Territorial Army.
I finished University and had my first child (I now have four kids). I still have time for my main hobby, gaming! I have evolved, as a person and as a gamer. I’m bringing my ethical and professional attitude into my gaming. I’m making gaming more about being part of a community and not just escaping into digital worlds. I’m practicing my career using my interest in gaming and I’m enjoying it.
I now game as ZypheREvolved and slowly grow my online profile.
Current Game: Star Citizen
The biggest crowdfunded project in history, not just in gaming! This project has raised over 100 million dollars and it’s all thanks to a man called Chris Roberts – plus his team! The game is being developed by Cloud Imperium Games and the way they operate is outstanding. I mainly follow the project, rather than play the game, because there is a lot to be learned from the developers.
Star Citizen will be my passion for many years to come but I will also be blogging about various other games.
